Loss Movement in 3 Parts

Artist: Denis Buckley

An Irishman, defined during his working life by his migrant labouring, regrets in old age he didn’t do more than just work to benefit others.

He plants a sapling which will grow, he hopes, to offset a perceived debt owed.

The process brings doubts about his perception of influence. What can he do in the face of such powerful agents, active in harming the world?

Kerry born artist Denis Buckley, (in the performative persona of Digger), brings his unique amalgam of moving image and performance to the outdoor space at Barrack Hill Park.

This new commission, curated by Declan Sheehan and supported by Artlink, investigates both culpability and solidarity from disadvantaged and often choiceless workers who historically bolstered colonial expansionism.

Meet Denis Buckley on 3rd May at Barrack Hill Park and come to Loss Movement in 3 Parts the finished work on 31st May. More information and booking below
