Begin the Begin : Brendan Farren

I am Brendan Farren, and have been practising as an artist for the past 30 years under the name Big Green Art. I like to use natural materials and work big when I can, promoting positive ideas and raising awareness around the environment, sustainability and nature. For Artlink, I will create a wooden arch for the theme of an Turas, which translates from Irish as pilgrimage or journey. Each journey begins with that first intentional step, crossing the threshold between the ordinary and the sacred, and this arch will define and delineate this beginning, your first step into the other.
