For some of us with physical restrictions, straying from the footpath isn’t an option. This is an audio and visual means of experiencing the park’s nature without requiring the viewer to leave the footpath. Here you will find a series of temporary decals which adhere to the ground and highlight the animals and nature that you would miss if you’re unable to stray from a flat even surface.
This artwork celebrates accessibility and allows the viewer to reach beyond the footpath by using their senses. It’s hard to be in a position where you feel like you are missing out on parts of nature that other people can easily experience. These illustrations have been created to connect the viewer to the park in a different type of way and they have been created to appeal to both adults and children alike.
Scan the QR code on each image to hear audio descriptions of different elements of the park. This gives you an opportunity to create a word based picture for people with sight difficulties so that they can get a different context to what they are hearing, smelling, feeling and touching.
